Really nice hostel. Seemed really fun place to be although it did seem full of people who had been there a long time so everyone knew each other. Rooms were quite small and crammed in but were clean. The hostel is in a bit of a red light district but we had no problem and felt quite safe. I would stay at this hostel again!!

Bathrooms and rooms very clean. Location is good, a bit far from the city but on main road with tram right outside. At night you can see many working ladies on the street in the area but overall it is conveniently located. Dissapointed with the Kitchen: pots and pans were scarce- two or three for the entire hostel and very badly kept, not enought cooking utensils.

on arrival i thought it was goin to be very boring, didnt seem like there was much goin on & although i asked for a mixed dorm i was in a room of just girls, i asked to be moved and it all went uphill from there, i had a great time there, wish i stayed longer! & the bottle shop is just across the road

We stayed at Cooee for only 3 nights i thought the standard of the room was excellent and very clean and if i was in Melbourne again i would definitely choose to stay here

Didn't like the distance from the city. Although the tram is nearby, it is unreliable and slow. Would rather be more central to get around by foot. Good if you want partying and beach. Very modern and clean though.
