I love this hostel! It not at the best location but it is pretty close to a subway station and bus stations that takes you to the more central parts of Shanghai.

SUPERBLY RUN SHANGHAI HOSTEL, ONE OF THE BEST I'VE ENCOUNTERED IN 20 YRS. OF WORLD-WIDE HOSTELING. KOALA'S AWAY FROM THE USUAL TOURIST TRAPS, BUT ZHENPING RD. SUBWAY STOP (Line #4) IS 10 MINUTES AWAY FOR THOSE ADDICTED TO SHOPPING AND MUSEUM-HOPPING. LOTS OF BRISTLING NEIGHBORHOOD STREET EXCITEMENT - SIDEWALK EATERIES, VENDORS & PARKS FOR BURNING OFF THAT BUILT-UP ENERGY. RUBY, CHARLENE & OTHER HOSTEL PERSONNEL IMMEDIATELY MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME WITH THEIR BRIGHT, LIVELY PRESENCES AT THE FRONT DE

Amazing rooms, although little common space to meet others. Excellent place if you're at the point of your trip when you need some quiet time. Walk to the metro station is a bit of a hike, but it's good practice for the rest of Shanghai!
