the office was closed between 11:00 and 16:30 so it was a little inconvenient to check in.

The directions listed on the site aren't very specific! The hostel is to the left as you exit the main station, there is a sign on the wall and it is up the stairs on the very first street you come to. Be prepared to test your Italian with the owners/managers, as they do not speak much English but are very friendly.

This hostel has a bizzare policy of closing between 11am and 4:30pm every day, so after a horrible 10 hour overnight ferry, all I wanted to do was sleep, I arrived at 9am only to be told that I had to wait outside untill 4:30 until I could go into my room?

They confirmed my reservation but the hostel was closed. Slept on the street!!!!!! And it was F****** 0 degrees. Next day had to go to another hotel and had to pay whatever they charged because I had no reservation. Couldn´t be worse!
