I really enjoyed my stay here, except that it was very far from Galway - a half hour cab ride - which was a problem for me. Otherwise I very much enjoyed my stay, the staff were lovely, the accommodations were comfortable and clean - I just wish it was a bit closer!

Really nice and relaxing place to stay. If you are aiming for Galway, it is too far. From Oughterards center it is about 10min walk. Good for touring around county Galway and Connemara, use it as a sleeping point. I was around with my parents and wanted to show them different parts of Ireland. Perfect for that. Car is a must. They loved this quiet hostel and its brilliant kitchen.

Didn't realise til we got there that it's actually about 25 kms out of Galway in a little village called Oughterard. Aside from that though it's a pretty nice place, in a nice little village. Facilities are good. No lockers or internet, but plenty of rustic charm.
