In the ground floor one toilet for five guest rooms is not enough. It is always occupied. In all other respects Castanea hostel is great.

The rooms were small but were clean and modern. The kitchen was well-equipped and there is a common / dining room. It was a cosy and clean hostel, a bit like staying in a private house. Reception is not staffed all the time but you don't need it as there is a code for the door and they are very well organised. Thank you Castanea, we had a wonderful time in Stockholm.

In the beautiful Old town close to all sights.Bit tricky to find (need better directions). Lacks atmosphere cos of no common room. Tourist info(things to do,etc) not great but they provide a map and receptionist are helpful and friendly(but not there 24/7).Security is ok:they provide lockers in dorms but luggage room is not locked so take padlock for suitcase.Bed sheet hire is nuisance,clean showers and good eating area. Overall:GOOD HOSTEL, NOT IDEAL FOR MEETING PPL BUT AMAZING LOCATION
