Overall good hostel! Located in Tenderloin, surounded by crackheads and homeless people, but you won't get any problem if you know where you go and don't respond to them. Just make sure to go thru Geary and Larkin when comin back at night. Very clean room and lobby. Good wireless internet. Good all u can eat brakefast. Would come back anytime!

Hi Comparing to the nearest hostels. Hi SF City Center is a low to medium budget traveller, especially if you are a single. The most I like is their kitchen, it's large and well facilitiated. Actually you can take minus bus no. 19 to their place from the city hall that they did not mention for rather pulling a giant luggage like me. Be book early, a must, recommendation from Hong Kong CL

This hostel is a very good place to stay. The beds are comfortable and their are lockers in the rooms. Also my four bed dorm had a closet and an ensuite bathroom. The common areas are very nice including a dining room that is renovated to resemble an irish themed bar. The TV room and lounge upstairs are great areas as well. The wireless connection worked excellent and never went out the whole four days I stayed. They are very organized as well and the staff put some pride into their work. When you store your bags they tag them with your name and give you a voucher and they check the voucher to make sure someone isn\'t walking off with your stuff. HOWEVER there is ONE MAJOR hang up. It is in the tenderloin district of San Francisco and there are a lot of transients, homeless people, crackheads, and drug dealers nearby. I MEANS TONS. The staff do an excellent job of keeping them out of the hostel by making people show their receipts before entering. Also when homeless people walk in they do NOT get very far before they are questioned and asked to leave. But I am 6\'1\" and was coming home late one night (~11pm) and I cabbed the 7 blocks from the transit station to the hostel because I didn\'t wanna risk getting robbed or intimidated by who knows who. Be prepared to spend some money on cab rides if you plan to go out late. Questions? shanelambert77@gmail.com
