I find HI Marin Headlands in Sausalito to be very user friendly. It always has a nice mix of guests who behave well and are interesting. The environment is unbelievably natural and beautiful for the outdoors type, yet it is so close to the town of Sausalito and just across the bridge from San Francisco. I just love it!

The unattended children playing with loud voices and stomping up stairs and being loud, were unappreciated at 7 am Sat morning. I understand they arrived late Fri nite from Netherlands, with time zone issues, but when I saw mother emerging from the bath after 25 mins and the tub water still full I was appalled. Her children were left unattended and were quite loud.

One of the BEST HOSTELS I have stayed in! I would recommend it to everyone (and have)! Oops, checked the wrong end by mistake

I would definitely recommend Marin Headlands hostel and I will come back. It would also make a great place to base a group retreat from - large open great room - huge meadow out front - walking distance from the beach - delicious $1.00 bottomless cup of coffee in the morning.

excellent location - easy access to the city, but quiet and restorative surroundings - a perfect blend. Excellent staff, and I love that it is a Marin Cty Green Business with educational materials on recycling and Fair Trade. they should rent surf boards and bikes at the hostel for the nearby surf spot (Cronkite) and the great bike trails in the headlands. But amazing, clean cute place!
