The Astor is in a really nice part of London, really close to Westminster Abby, Parliament and Big Ben, not far from all other major attractions. Pimlico station on the Victoria line is 5 minutes walk and makes getting around really easy. The staff were good but the bathroom facilities need attention.

Some staff were incompetent. Seems the guests were dominated by large groups.

decent hostel, no elevator though so you have to climb quite a bit. beds are quite sturdy but shower and cleanliness just so-so. sound proofing seems to be not so good so can be quite noisy.

Lockers in the rooms are not good, since you can get your hands inside. I acctually locked my key that was in my backpack into the locker (accidentally), but I was able to get the key out.
