So far out of all the hostels we've stayed at Base Wellington was definitely the worst. We booked online but had tons of problems checking in and had to wait. The kitchen and bathrooms weren't clean and there are no ovens in the kitchen. The no alcohol rule kind of sucks to can't even have a beer or a glass of wine with dinner without getting evicted. When we got to the room one of the beds wasn't made. I could go on an on but there's no point. Bottom line is don't get fooled by the ritzy image

Base Backpackers Wellington was the worst base I have stayed in and I have stayed in a few bases. The cleanliness was poor, toilet paper missing from mens toilets for 2 days on all floors and I am sure they were also not cleaned for 2 days. Location also seems good but since bars and loud music go on till 3am and 5 am, you don't get much sleep so overall bad location
