Tin roofs aren't so great for sleeping in the rainy season! Maybe the tin roofed cottages could be improved on, otherwise a great place with a great vibe!

The bad rating I gave with cleanliness is because they have a lot of cats and dogs around. Funny to play around with them but when the cats are eating out of their pots on the same shelf where all the plates, cups etc. are. No fun anymore. As well the cat play around in the bathroom. The whole place is also very old and you can see that there are not much investements in improvements.

Although some of the staff were brilliant, there were a couple who were really rude and ignorant and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Our dorm room didn't lock (with drunken staff members walking in in the middle of the night and not leaving when asked to at first), and neither did the bathrooms, and there was no hot water in the showers.

Booked through hostelworld but they don't check the internet so didn't have our booking! They had space for us though so no harm done. We had an amazing stay here - loads to do and the people really friendly and welcoming - in particular there is a local guide called Richard who is fantastic - he took us jungle hikes and to his village where we met his chief! Highly recommended.
