I stayed at Mi Casa on each of my 2 visits to Costa Rica. The staff became a family away from home, friendly and always eager to help plan a days outting, arranging transportation or with whatever else you need. I am an older traveler but enjoyed the mix at Mi Casa. It is in a very safe area, a short bus ride from town or a 25 minute walk. It isnt noisy at night, and there is enough space within the hostel so that if you want to go off and have some privacy you can. I will stay at MiCasa next time I go to Costa Rica.

Location is on east end of the city, 1/2 walk to central park, but only a 2-4$ cab ride. Very pleasnat to deal with and room was clean enough.

Guess I am not into communal living with teenagers. Towels are not provided. Staff were both helful and offhand. The place could really do with fresh paint.

Overall an enjoyable experience. I hope to go back next year and stay with them again. The staff was incredible and very helpful. It is the perfect launch point for any Costa Rican adventure

This was the first hostel we stayed at in Costa Rica. It was pretty clean and very quiet - mostly people were just there to lay low or as a starting point for trips to the coasts. Staff was nice and spoke a varying amount of English.
