We had a four bed room for four travelers for five days and were quite happy. The hamam location is rather intriguing (though' of course, this is not among the nicest of hamams within the city). The room and bathrooms were pleasantly clean (I had a really bad bathroom cleanliness experience at a different hostel in Istanbul a few months ago). Kitchen and terrace are at the top and although it does not offer much of a view, it is a pleasant place to eat breakfast (not included) or have a drink. Latika, from USA ~ 29th Apr 2012

This hostel could have so much potential if it raised it's standards.I stayed for two weeks here, and not once was my room cleaned, or sheets replaced with new ones. The hostel actually being within the old Hammam is very cool, although since there is no sign out front many (including myself) have had a difficult time finding it.The check in is actually downstairs inside the Hammam entrance.Would be nice if they cleaned up the roof terrace too, it is filled with junk, and dirty tables.

At first the place looks obscure, hard to spot. Very easy to find from ISTIKAL street, into Turni cebassi. The street is full of antique shops, art shops, bookshops, antique books, Its like a bazaar outside...quiet, serine and very buy a beer just on you doorstep. Street full of good restaurants.Famous Hamam just down the road...Pity I cannot speak Turkish language... Fakier, from South Africa ~ 12th Mar 2012

The hostel was hard to find as it is upstairs of a turkish bath, and no sign at the door. it was very confusing when i first arrived, especially because all the staff but one don't speak english. But the hostel turned out to be very nice. I met lots of great people, did a bbq on the big roof top and had a turkish bath at an excellent price. It's right where all the nightlife is and 20 minutes walking distance from the huge mosques of sultanahmet/emöglü area. I recommend this place patricio, from Argentina ~ 1st Nov 2011

Thıs ıs probably the most ınterestıng hostel I have stayed at ın Europe. It´s not the cleanest or the most comfortable, and the owner doesn´t speak much Englısh, but ıt has so much character that I would recommend ıt.The rooftop terrace ıs also fantastıc place to meet people.Defınıtely stay for the local flavor! Everything looked very old but all in all this is a very fine place. They were cleaning everyday. Only the cooker was a bit clotted, but allright. There were spices and pasta we could use for free. The owner even gave me a beer. When I paid I wanted to give a tip but they insisted on giving me back too liras too much. The roof terasse was great and also the old hamam which is benaeth the hostel. Guests in the hostel get special price for hamam which is still touristic price but very okay. In a cool neighborhood filled with antique stores and chill cafes, just 2 blocks off Istaklal street but feels like you're living with locals. Nice indoor and outdoor common areas on the roof, no breaky but a guest kitchen. Really cheap but good restaurant just 1 block up the street to Istaklal (red leather booth in the window, across from police station). Russ, from USA ~ 28th Aug 2011
