The Arctic Adventure hostel is really great. While I was in Anchorage, I floated between this one, Jason's, and 26th street. This one definately had the best ammenities and the most affordable privacy. The owner, Joseph, is a really great guy who really cares about the quality of the hostel. This hostel is actually more like an affordable, safe, clean motel. When I was there, it didn't seem like it would be as good as 26th street for just meeting and hanging out with people... but that does

The hostel was hard to find but we did not have a mas. Make sure you get directions from mapquest.com before coming. I was impressed with the cleanliness.;

We only stayed there to lay our heads down and close our eyes for about 5 hours total, but it was nice and the personal tv and fridge were pleasant surprises.

This was my first Hostel stay and it was perfect for me. I had a private room and enjoyed having a full kitchen and access to a computer. The staff was very helpful! I used public transportation most of the time and I walked quite a bit. I highly recommend the museum and Heritage Center, the Coastal Trial with a rented bike, and all of downtown! I
