no lights or electricity the first night in the room, room like a prison cell without a window and no radiator not even a bin (just a bed), smell of the toilets in the room all day, no privacy in the open showers, because of the windows to the next rooms (not to the outside!) always bright light when the others guests came back at night, even in the single/double rooms securtiy was good, easy check in/out Jasmin, from Germany ~ 16th Apr 2012

Really disgusting place, just don´t go there. Dirty and very damaged structures inside that makes it disgusting and depressing. Don´t book twin bedrooms, they´re terryfing. The dorm is better. Bathrooms suck and showers do too. Furthermore, stinks and It´s very dark inside. I´m not demanding at all but this place It´s incredibly bad. Ibon, from Spain ~ 5th May 2012

Ashton House Hostel was an awful experience: foul air alle over the place dark hallways that is, no lights at all windows don't open which was necessary in order to breathe because of condensed water down the windows mould fungus in the windows and the ceiling only 2 toilets for all guests to share icecold bathroom moulded bread and marmelade for breakfast. No juice, no milk, no coffee. Absolutely nothing else. We left the place after one night. But we have paid for 4 - and still have! Rita, from Denmark ~ 17th Apr 2012

The hostel is 10 min away from city center, the staff is very friendly. It is clean and safe. But it is very loud and the walls are not so good and you can hear everything that happens in all rooms around you. Dragan, from Bulgaria ~ 21st Nov 2011

The staff was really rude to us. They weren't willing to help us. We had a room with a small table that wasn't stable at all, two lights, but only one was working. The toilets were dirty, as was the breakfast. Read Owner Comments Tineke, from Netherlands ~ 31st Oct 2011
