Astor Museum Inn en Auckland, Inglaterra

the room was not ready when i was trying to check in at around 18.00,how can this be possible?? after a long day,all you need is to have a nice room waiting for you,and this is really disapointing,cleanliness of the room is at its worst,no free internet access,stay away is the only word i can advice future travelers,the only good thing is the location Marina, from Russia ~ 1st May 2012

We were staying in an annexe to the main building which was fine, but the girl on the desk didn't bother to tell us it was being painted....no covering on the floors, wet paint everywhere, it was a bit of a joke. Totally appreciate the fact the place has to be done up but in fairness, paint fumes while you sleep and paint on your clothes doesn't make for the best of stays. Very bad direction to the hostel, it's indeed next to the British Museum but I ended up spending half an hour to get there from the tube station. No free wifi, no private toilet, kitchen rather small, I'd recommend Astor Hyde Park as an alternative. Katrina, from Hong Kong ~ 1st May 2012

I booked it , went in and left :). It's a great place for people aged 18-21. Nice party atmosphere, very nice staff, however for someone who is used to any comfort it's not quite the place you are looking for. The room was so small the door would not open completely because the bed was in the way, no place to sit, you can only squeeze in and sleep. 2 miles from there is a Travelodge where I booked a 3 person hotel room for less than the rate at the Astor Museum Inn.
