My second time at the awesomeness that is Asylum cairns. I did manage to slip in someone's vomit, which was utterly disgusting (not the hostels fault of course, it's always a hazard when goon and stupid people mix!!!) BUT even so I would never ever stay anywhere else while in Cairns :) Note to people of the world: If you need to vomit, don't do it on the top of the stairs, AND IF YOU CAN'T HELP YOURSELF then at least clean it up or tell the staff!!! :p Ingela, from Sweden ~ 26th Apr 2012

Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a lot of partying going on so if you want a quiet hostel this is not the place for you however if you want to party 7 days a week then there will be people to drink with no matter what day of the week. Pretty dirty and worn down place over all but the linen where clean. Big kitchen with a lot of utensils. The internet is really bad but free if you attended the mad monday. 4 dollar BBQ is the worst meat I have ever eaten, stay away. Erik, from Sweden ~ 24th Jun 2011
