Basically it provides all you expect from a youth hostel.A big kitchen and common room, Wifi, spacious room and sufficient toilet. But it is a bit expensive.It is JPY2,300 for a dorm bed.In Osaka, I got a single room at less than JPY2000. It is not very near the Kyoto train station. It is about 5-10 mins walk.. we made the correct decision to get on a cab on the first day which saves us time from getting lost with our heavy luggage... but once you know the way, its not difficult to get to the hostel... Nice hostel experience. The staff was helpful and nice, and the rooms were roomy enough. There were also big spaces for luggage storage underneath the beds. The hostel was about a 10 or so minute walk from the station. The zen cafe bar next door at a decent breakfast and was a nice place to go sit at the bar and have a drink and meet fellow travelers.
