Unfortunately Banana Backpackers was the worst place we stayed in on our South Africa trip. It is a lovely old building with emormous potential but is currently terrible. It is dirty and worn out. The room could not have been more basic or uncomfortable and the toilet and shower room left a lot to be desired. The staff are just about doing their job but are definately lacking in any enthusiasm or willingness to be helpful. It needs to be realised that very often a visitors impression of an entir
