I gave security a 3 because when we were inside the room, the latch to secure the door was very lame. The door actually blew open in a storm despite being "locked". Kelly, from USA ~ 6th Sep 2009

....i stayed in one of the cabanas with private bathroom....keep in mind the ambience is rustico in what was available in playa before it became totally commercialized....i enjoyed the gate access to the beach, the open communal kitchen, the prices can't be beat, the bus stop is right around the corner, and the staff were very relaxed and friendly, cafe presse across the street served simple but excellent meals and affordable, the rooms were cleaned daily, again, i recomend popul vuh for the se Jack, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2009

This place was great. Basic, but if all you need is a safe, clean place to stay, it's perfect. Bring earplugs if noise bothers you, because the windows are of screen, covered by a sheet. We had keys to the doors but if somebody really wanted to break through the screen, they could. They do lock the gate at night and give guests keys to get in. No A/C but there's a fan in each room. There's also a fridge/stove/etc to use, bikes to rent, wireless internet, and drinks for purchase. The only mislead Janet, from USA ~ 10th Apr 2009

Si bien el hostel esta muy bien ubicado, esta un tanto desorganizado, sobre todo en la cocina. Justamente ese sector no esta muy limpio, el microondas no funciona y le faltan utencillos para cocinar.
