Friendly welcome, multilingual receptionists very helpful and friendly. Liked the baggage storage facility as it meant I didn't have to drag my suitcase all over Berlin all day! Sarah, from England ~ 14th Jan 2012

i liked staying at the youth hostel. the breakfast was amazing. the lockers are in the room without buying your own lock which is great. shower and bathrooms were clean. a little far from center tho. overall it was pretty good :) sara, from USA ~ 20th Oct 2011

The location was really good, within a walking distance eg. to the Postdamer Platz and Brandenburger Tor. And still the area around the hostel was quite peaceful. When I arrived, the man in the reception wasn't very friendly or helpful. He just waited me to say everything and didn't tell me of all the services provided in the hostel. But, I liked the breakfast and the hostel was pretty good otherwise, too. We arrived at 5.30AM after a 4 hour bus ride from Prague and had advised on our booking we would arrive at 5.30AM and was told once we got to the hostel we are not allowed to check in until 1PM that day. We asked if we could stay in their lounge area as we had no where to go and was advised no and to "leave now". The guy in reception was nothing but rude that we literally had to walk around Berlin until 9AM until shops opened. Straightforward route from the station, definitely walk so you get to know the area. Within walking distance of the Reichstag and Brandenburger tor. Staff were pretty boring but helpful enough. Meals were amazing, so much choice at breakfast and there's an option to have a buffet dinner for 6euros. Internet fairly expensive. Shower room is communal but there's lots of showers. Lockers are big and easy. It's more like a hotel than a hostel, not good for meeting people/having fun. No guest kitchen Chloe, from England ~ 6th Sep 2011
