When I first walked in I didn't expect much, the hostel is on the second floor and the stairs are not that great ;) but I had a great stay, really nice staff, bathrooms were very clean and the location was great.
unfortunately no W-Lan, but its just above mcDonalds which offers you one hour internet access every day!

Staff was awesome, they hung out in the common room as if they were guests. It is located next to a subway stop and a bunch of college bars, but is about a 20-30 minute walk to the center of town. However, the subway can be taken to the center of town. Cleanliness of the sheets was a little in question (stains, holes) so I suggest bringing your own. Great hostel.

No locks on the individual doors. Anyone in the hostel has access to your room! Apparently there's a secure room to put your stuff during the day, but I just left my stuff in my room and nothing was stolen. It is perfectly located right next to Barbarossaplatz, but with that comes lots of noise from the trams. It sounds like thunder everytime they go by. Make sure you bring ear plugs!! Otherwise a great hostel, lots of personality, clean, friendly and free breakfast.

Black Sheep Hostel was the cosiest hostel I've ever stayed in. Great staff, clean and a excellent common room. Cologne is worth a visit again just to stay here.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. This feels the way a hostel should - warm, comfortable and easy. The hostel is still new so they don't have lockers, but the staff will lock your items in the office. I felt safe here.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hostel! Short distance to bars and everything. The atmosphere was very friendly, many thanks to the hosts and the other lovely people there :)

I would highly recommend this hostel. Because it's new, it wasn't very busy so it wasn't exactly a party hostel but there are plenty of bars nearby if that's what you're after. Everything else about the place is great so i doubt this will be a problem for very long. The staff are very friendly and helpful and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
