I would recommend this hostel. The security is good. A nice view from the rooftop and free cappacino. I preferred the female only dorm. Mary, from USA ~ 28th Oct 2009

The hostel where we stayed at Merulana st. it\'s not bad at all, the location is very convenient. The staff at the main office is very nice and helpful. There were 2 things that I didn\'t like - the hot water that was almost missing ( we had 2 min to take a shower before the water gets cold) and there is no Wi-Fi!!!For young traveleres this is important. The hostel had a pc with Internet where you can use only 15 min. Anyway I might go back again :) Sashka, from Bulgaria ~ 12th Oct 2009

To be honest it was a dingy little hostel, quite run down and all but with the location right nearthe train station it was simply perfect for our trip !!! if you can get over the run down aspect youll see a good bed, dodgy bathroom but id definately stay again. much better to be in the centre of rome than better hostel further out ! We stayed at another location (as Casa Olmata ordered ), not at Casa Olmata site, the problem was we found difficulty to give back room key. The key had to return to Casa Olmata which the distance quite far, meanwhile we were in hurry to catch up our flight. Nike Sari, from Indonesia ~ 5th Oct 2009

The family run nature of this hostel made it extremely friendly and the spaghetti parties deserve world-wide fame! You meet lots of people in every hostel you go to but I really felt that here I made some firm friends. Harriet, from England ~ 17th Sep 2009

I loved this place and would totally stay again. Very charming, and the location was great (close enough to the train station that luggage isn't a pain, far enough that you're away from the train station sketchiness). The staff was great to me and the breakfast was the best I've had at a hostel without an extra cost. Plus the roof garden area is beautiful and you can eat your food while watching the sun coming up over the city. They give you your own key so the office hours are really only a pro Katrina, from USA ~ 14th Sep 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Olmata. It's a very social hostel, with lots of people from everywhere. We loved spagetthi-party: spagetthi and wine for only 2 euro that's amazing! A nice little place not fare away from them main sigths. Trine, from Denmark ~ 27th Sep 2009

Our room was large and very nice and even had a TV. Not sure if it was a typical room though from glancing in another one or two. Bathroom was nice and clean as well. Very close to the main train station, and walking distance to Roman Forum and Colosseum. They have a nice rooftop area where they have a spaghetti cook out every other day. We didn't make it back for that but it sounded nice. They also have a to-go breakfast pack for only €2 that's a real life saver. My only compl David, from USA ~ 10th Sep 2009
