Pretty hostel common area and small pool, but too many dorms in the dorm room - they are stacked 3 high! Not a problem when it's not full (like when I was there), but if it were, I can foresee problems with the number of bathrooms. A little pricey for what you get overall. The staff were ok, customer service could have been better, but a decent option in the old city and a/c and night was great. Iris, from USA ~ 13th May 2012

I have been travelling for a year and this is by far the best hostel/hotel I have stayed in. It is so peaceful and tranquil a little bit of heaven in Cartagena. I was due to stay 4 days and stayed almost 2 weeks. I couldnt leave. This isnt a party place but I met a great group and we used the pool and had BBQ's. Casa de la Chiceria is a beautiful place to stay in the heart of the old city. By the end of our stay, we felt like part of the family. The pool is fantastic during the hot afternoons of Cartagena. The staff are incredibly helpful and you can trust their recommendations. This place beats every other hostel in Cartagena hands down. It feels like a hotel - you won´t want to leave! This is really a wonderful hostel. I would recommend it to anyone going to Cartagena. The location is excellent, as are the staff. There is a pool, which is essential. They have AC in the bedrooms as well, which is great. Phillip, from USA ~ 23rd Aug 2011

Loved it here. Angel and Miriam make you feel at home with freshly made lemonade and coffee. The pool is small, but perfect for a mid day dip to help deal with the Carribbean heat. Lovely building and outdoor courtyard. There is a kitchen for those who want to cool.This is a great little place (only 3 rooms) to relax and take it easy and not a party hostel by far...
