This hostel was excellent.I have stayed in many and the vibe here was very welcoming.There were a ton of young people hanging out in the lobby/lounge which really gave it some good character.The employers were friendly and helpful with excellent English.I will definitely go back.It would, however, be nice if they had a pool table or pingpong set up.They also had a beautiful garden area that was perfect for our breakfast and late night drinks. can't praise this place enough. clean, comfortable, excellent atmosphere. its like living in a tropical bungalow. all the staff were fantastic. Elaine gets 5 stars in my book. after a few months of prior planning Elaine was able clean up all my travel plansand fill in the blanks in minutes. As if i was consulting 'The Wikipedia'. The Chengdu Mix hostel is DEFINITELY the BEST place I've ever stayed in China (compared to 11 hotels/hostels I've stayed at in other cities). The friendly, English-speaking staff made you feel very good during your stay, were extremely helpful, and went far out of their way to help you with anything, from arranging for taxis/Tibet visasto organizing excursions and tours. It is my first time to Chengdu and also in Mix Hostel. I really love this place and people here, especially the two young smiling beauties, Elaine and Bella. It is tidy and colorful on the third floor, since many beautiful flowers and great sunshine, even there is no WIFI on the thrid floor. Lots of organized tour groups and hostel activities. Friendly, helpful staff. Great in-house restaurant with Sichuan and Western dishes. Close to public transportation. Across the street from teahouses with views of the canal. I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping, which I've never experienced anywhere else in China. Interesting travelers. Great staff and the place was clean. The food menu was pretty cheap and varied. Staff helped out with getting to places and offered me a shower even when I got there a day earlier than my actual booking while I waited to head to the airport, thanks!
