There was a feeling of staying at someone's home, but without the guilt of imposing because you paid for your room. There is no sign out front so pay attention to the building numbers when you turn on to Balzaretti. There were no bedbugs while I was there. No towels provided,so bring your own. The blanket was thin so I was a bit cold. Alberto made a pasta dinner the night I was there which was nice. Overall I was relieved that it was as comfortable a stay as it was. I would stay again. This was the worst hostel I've stayed at yet. Bed bug bites galore! Also, the staff person (singular) did nothing except wash a few dishes every day and was completely unhelpful. Moreover, it had one of the least social atmosphere's I've seen. Moral of the story: DON'T STAY HERE. Reid, from USA ~ 23rd Sep 2009

The place had a homey feel to it, it's actually a large house that the put bunk beds in, not the best bunk beds per se but they do have a large kitchen available for everyone's use. They are also not far from metro and tram stops. The staff wasn't bad they were helpful but there for a good time. There was no curfew and free wifi through out the house. There were only a small number of bathrooms so in the morning there could be quite a wait. Andrea, from Canada ~ 21st Sep 2009

the location was not that close to the station(by foot, the metro will take you by just 2 stops, but the thing was that I walked my way to the hostel with my luggage so..;;) the tram will take you to the duomo straight away as well as to the shopping areas(very close to the duomo) room was nice, there was 6 beds and a bathroom, quiet and pleasent, breakfast was toast and jam, coffee or milk, comfortable and free it was!! enjoyed staying~ no curfew, the house key was given^^ SOOHYUN, from South Korea ~ 17th Aug 2009

The indications to get there are horrible (you will have to ask people to help you). The place is clean and the owner is nice even though he doesn't speak much English. Lucie-Maude, from Canada ~ 6th Aug 2009

not a bad place to stay, my friend and i had fun, something seriously needs to be done about the "pool" in the back though, it breeds too many mosquitoes. Dorota, from Canada ~ 26th Jul 2009

It was a great stay! Very friendly atmosphere, clean, tasty breakfasts! The staff was very helpful from the beginning. Have never seen such warm attitude in hostels before. Also a lot of fun! You feel as at home, which was very important to me. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends! Elena, from Russia ~ 21st Jul 2009

Stefan makes this a great, sociable place to stay, and a really perfect place to meet people. However, it's quite out of the way (although it is close to a metro station!) and the cleanliness is pretty appalling- quite messy, dirty and the cutlery is plastic. A nice place to stay, but you must be able to live with dirt and untidiness! Sophie, from England ~ 21st Jul 2009

The hostel was hard to find...directions from the metro stop were hard to follow. There was also no proper sign over the door, only a very small piece of paper stuck to the door. It wasn't possible to lock the dorm door either and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Eilish, from Ireland ~ 8th Jul 2009

Kitchen was disgusting, bedrooms okay but balcony covered in old cigarette butts. Staff were extremely unhelpful and the directions they gave us were wrong, yet when we told them they just said we were wrong! The breakfast was a joke, the shower is shared by far too many people, they never answer the phone, they don't want to help you do anything eg get a taxi to the airport etc..there is never any toilet paper..they had no laundry facilities or towels so we had to use our bed sheets!!
