The room we had wasn't at the same place as the office of the hostel, we had to walk 5 minutes to get there. Beddings were awful and very old. We had to take a cold shower (or sometimes boiling hot), without pressure... Finally the toilet flush didn't worked at all ! Hopefuly we stayed only one night and shared the room with two nice people. I won't go there again, even if the price is low the hostel must do as little as possible ! You never know where your room is going to be. They are spread out throughout the town, but Riomaggiore is very small, and everything is close to the main street. If you have to climb 10 flights of stairs, it is all part of the experience. Ryan, from USA ~ 2nd May 2012

The room I stayed in was sketchy, but the other rooms that my friends stayed in, which were closer to the main office, were perfect. They do vary, but its good enough.you don't spend much time inside anyway. Overall, its worth it.The office has free wifi and the guy who works there was extremely nice to me.Also, they changed the sheets and cleaned the room (bed, bath, kitchen) every day.Towels were free.Late check out is fine. The owner was very nice... he even kept my backpack for a hole day without paying anything... ask for bath towels if you need... MARIA, from Portugal ~ 7th Oct 2011

Pros = Had fun girls in my room and good location. No curfew or lockout. Cons = More so rooms than a hostel. No common area to mingle with other travelers and they won't store your bags at all.The beds were not comfortable at all and the shower barely worked (and was TINY!). Nicole, from USA ~ 3rd Oct 2011

All rooms were spread out amoung the town. Very strange experience. Young man escorting to the rooms was very nice. The manager asked me to prove that the website said free laundry which I could not, because there was no internet. Bathroom was not ensuite as indicated, but was private with no lock. Owner was very rude, wanted our money upfront and to keep our passports in unlocked drawer. He swore in Italian at us as he was oblivious that we spoke Italian. Disliked Australians, told us to go back to our own country and would rather we didnt stay at his hostel. Made our stay very unpleasant. Paid for private room and toilet seat was broken. Told us they cleaned each day and notices about cleanliness yet not cleaned once in the time we were there. Have stayed at MUCH better hostels. maria, from Australia ~ 4th Sep 2011

It's as good as it gets in cinque terre. It is up a LOT of stairs but it could be worse. A friend of mine at a different spot was up 300 stairs and in a room with 11 other people. So this one was great! 7 people in one room. Kitchen downstairs, bathroom wouldn't flush 2's. But I couldn't complain since I enjoyed cinque terre!!! brooke, from USA ~ 19th Aug 2011

They put too many people on a small room, so that it ends up really noisy and you can't find a really good sleep, also because the beds are really not the best. Apart from that it's okay, and zou can meet nice people there. Philipp, from Germany ~ 31st Jul 2011

Our apt was very high on the hill, great view, my boyfriend almost had a heart attack carrying his luggage but the 'boy' was nice enough to carry mine. Overall a nice spot, however the maid managed to take off with our personal towel and we didnt have time to try and retrieve it before leaving town, oh well :) Kara, from USA ~ 28th Jul 2011
