Our stay at the Claremont Guesthouse was fantastic! The rooms were clean and cozy and the staff was helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend the Claremont to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot on lodging...great value for the price!! Christopher, from USA ~ 16th May 2012

The hostel location are really accessible from the train station. Toilet cleanliness are really excellent. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are food stores and mini cafes just a distance away. It's a nice and good location to stay in. HUI MIN, from Singapore ~ 14th May 2012

For this being mine, and my boyfriends first time travelling out of country.. The Claremont Guest House gave us the perfect stepping stone of comfort leaving home. The staff were absolutely amazing, the bathrooms were always beyond clean.. it's in a great location, DEFINITELY take a walk to the Botanic Gardens! Lovely cleen hostel, really friendly and helpful staff. Hostel was very noisy the first night we stayed there from about 2am-3.30 we were in a double room so maybe close to a dorm, such a shame as lovely hostel rachel, from Australia ~ 29th Mar 2012

After finding this place from the airport (public transit made this really easy to do), I was greeted by a VERY helpful staff. I stayed in the 6-person dorm and got to meet some really cool people. The bathrooms were clean and the place is super close to the train station. I would recommend this hostel for anyone staying in Melbourne for a few days. Benjamin, from USA ~ 13th Feb 2012

Good things first: Breakfast is included and good. However, the walls are probably made of paper, the noise in the hotel is unbearable. The rooms are, even for a cheap hotel/guesthouse, very tiny, we were not even able to place both of our backpacks on the floor. The clearmont is located in south yarra (outside of the center), but the good public transport of Melbourne allows you to reach the city center easily. This "Guest House" is what I would describe as "not knowing what it wants to be"... It is not a Hotel and it is not a Hostel. Yes, it has a kitchen but not any way to cook. No stove, no cooking appliances etc. It has a microwave and some plates. We stayed in a twin room which was so small that you had to walk in and "reverse" out. You can not be in the room at the same time without one having to stay in the bed. Window was bolted so you could not open it more than 0.1 meters, i.e. no fresh Stefan, from Sweden ~ 11th Jan 2012
