Davids hostel is filled with simple character and charm, both in appearance, and the attitudes of the staff. It was comfortable, relaxing, and induced many interesting conversations. True, it's not exactly in the city center, but that also means that you can find food/drinks for cheaper prices, and once you learn the Underground system, its really no big deal. Davids Hostel has my recommendation due to the effort of the staff. Nico, from USA ~ 29th May 2012

Helena, from Germany ~ 16th May 2012

It is a nice place with special home atmosphere created by workers and owners. You get for what you pay everything is fair! Natalia, from Russia ~ 14th May 2012

FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This hostel was just a downright nightmare. The price was very moderate so we vere perfecty aware that it wasn't going to be the Ritz, but this was really below our worst expectations. The room hadn't been cleaned since the fall of the Berlin wall, the shower was in the communal kitchen and acted as sink for cleaning the dishes as well, the toilet looked like the one in trainspotting and the list goes on and on...JUST DON'T GO THERE

The mattresses there were grimy and of low quality. The shower was either burning or freezing. Only one of the bathrooms are useable. Beds were not made on time. Guests walked in at random and paid 10 euro per night where I paid 40 euro for 3 nights. They make you take off your shoes when you walk in but the floors are disgusting anyway. They will eat your food. They didn't change sheets between customers. I would NEVER stay there again. It was the worst experience ever!!

A good piece of advice: spend an additional 10 euros on a decent hostel. This is not your money's worth even though it is cheap. A very strange place. The staff, however, was helpful.

RE: comments you gave to Victoria from the USA: I think it is very much our business how much you charge other customers when you are giving discount to people who walk into your hostel of the street who have never been to your hostel before and make other people feel uncomfortable and intimidate. Also, we never arrived late, when we showed up our room wasn't even ready for us! The staff are not nice and quite frankly a little bit weird and i can hand on heart say: THIS IS THE WORST HOSTEL EVER

Very cosy indeed. The staff was friendly, the place was like a home. Ines, from Portugal ~ 15th Mar 2012

This hostel was absolutely one of the most fun ever. Although, one cannot be too fussy about things like tidiness and cleanness. Things don't always happen your way. The whole place was full of friendly people and fun times. The attitude is what counts so have some fun and stay in this place. The connections are good with the U-Bahn and it only takes about 15 minutes by bus from and to TXL airport. Nice and quiet area with a couple of small shops nearby. We stayed there for 4 nights and loved it Susanna, from Finland ~ 26th Mar 2012

The staff was wonderful. The atmosphere was quite nice. It was like you are not just a guest there. You became a part of this community immediately, if you want. It felt like home. There are so nice people in there and they treat you so well that you wouldn't imagine. Özgür, from Turkey ~ 4th Feb 2012
