FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This hostel was just a downright nightmare. The price was very moderate so we vere perfecty aware that it wasn't going to be the Ritz, but this was really below our worst expectations. The room hadn't been cleaned since the fall of the Berlin wall, the shower was in the communal kitchen and acted as sink for cleaning the dishes as well, the toilet looked like the one in trainspotting and the list goes on and on...JUST DON'T GO THERE

To have a shower in a kitchen, because of a small bathroom - is not a crime and specially not a point, to rate us that bad. You shared your rooms with another couple, that there is the possibility that they mess the place up. Iam sure someone of the staff offered you to show up at the reception, if you need help or something is wrong. Iam very sorry for the understanding, but when you don't use offered services, we can't make your stay better :( next time better! love & regards -Steve

The mattresses there were grimy and of low quality. The shower was either burning or freezing. Only one of the bathrooms are useable. Beds were not made on time. Guests walked in at random and paid 10 euro per night where I paid 40 euro for 3 nights. They make you take off your shoes when you walk in but the floors are disgusting anyway. They will eat your food. They didn't change sheets between customers. I would NEVER stay there again. It was the worst experience ever!!

Dear Victoria, I'm very sorry to hear about your bad experience in our House. If you have a problem we would have liked to try our best to solve it but instead you kept your anger until you had some space here in the review page. well. 1) The Mattresses are in use quiet a lot, and such as everything things get broken every here and then and we would just love to hear about it because we don't lay down in all of our 40 beds every day just to check out if they are still ok. 2) Same with the Shower, but here in this case there is no problem at all except your lack of knowledge. In this Hostel we use a Mixer Tab. This means you have Hot AND Cold water Pipes going inside the Tab and then you can adjust the Heat Level with a Lever to a Temperature of your wish. So it is impossible that its either too Hot or too Cold since you are the one who can regulate it. If you did not make your choice to do so then don't blame us... 3) We have 3 Bathrooms and all are useable. 4) You did not arrive on time either. 5) What these guests are paying is simply not of your concern. Since we do have Discounts for long stay guest and friends of David. 6) Why didnt you say anything about that the floor wasn't clean enough for you to take them off? 7) There is an instruction on the Fridge it says " WRITE YOUR NAME ON EACH ARTICLE", if you choose not to do so it might get eaten, thrown away or fed to our hungry dogs. 8) At least it was an experience, and really in which a lot of it was caused by your own unability to communicate.

A good piece of advice: spend an additional 10 euros on a decent hostel. This is not your money's worth even though it is cheap. A very strange place. The staff, however, was helpful.

Maybe for you it was not as glamourous as you wished, but there is tons of young people who simply Love it here. Because we are who we are. They really do. They even come from such Hostels where the Price is 20 EUR Per Night and much Higher and you know what is the first thing they say? This Place is Like Home. Because we are not a Mc Hostel so sure is a bit chaotic here and there but I would rather call it creative environment and honestly, this, but exactly this - is what the real backpacker is looking for. =)

RE: comments you gave to Victoria from the USA: I think it is very much our business how much you charge other customers when you are giving discount to people who walk into your hostel of the street who have never been to your hostel before and make other people feel uncomfortable and intimidate. Also, we never arrived late, when we showed up our room wasn't even ready for us! The staff are not nice and quite frankly a little bit weird and i can hand on heart say: THIS IS THE WORST HOSTEL EVER

Dear Victoria you payed for one Person 11EUR + 11EUR + 4 EUR which is in total around 26 EUR and makes an average of 8.66 EUR Per Night. Nothing to complain about. Your last review was misleading by claiming you payed 46 EUR concealing the fact you payed this price for 2 Persons. Check out Time here is from 9 to 12. If you arrive at 10 in the morning it may be that some guests are still sleeping in the bed or just have been checked out where in this case we do have to renew the Beds for the next Guest. So we might ask you for a bit patience while we change the Bedlinen.

This hostel was absolutely one of the most fun ever. Although, one cannot be too fussy about things like tidiness and cleanness. Things don't always happen your way. The whole place was full of friendly people and fun times. The attitude is what counts so have some fun and stay in this place. The connections are good with the U-Bahn and it only takes about 15 minutes by bus from and to TXL airport. Nice and quiet area with a couple of small shops nearby.We stayed there for 4 nights and loved it Susanna, from Finland ~ 26th Mar 2012
