The atmosphere of the hostel is serious, but not altogether unpleasant. As an 18yr old college student, I was happy to spend as little time as possible there. The bed was comfy though! And some of the rules are really a treat to read. For instance, you can't bring a "fuck friend." Savannah, from USA ~ 16th Oct 2011

It’s in a quiet neighborhood with a small convenience store 1 block, McDonald’s 2 blocks, bank and metro 3 blocks away. It had a fridge, dishes, cookware and a porch that overlooks an alley. The owner wasn't very nice and was a neat freak but we never really saw him. The front stairs from the street are practically vertical and wouldn't be safe for the elderly or children but it’s cheap, quiet, clean and safe, acceptable for our weekend budget trip. Never seen so many ridiculous rules posted on the wall for every possible thing you could do, including the fee you'd have to pay if you broke them (I.e. 1000$ if you make a liquid stain on the matress). kinda threatening... Verena, from Austria ~ 14th Aug 2011

This was my first stay in a hostel.I found this hostel to be quiet and comfortable and the proprietor easy going. The location is close to a Metro station which made getting downtown very easy.Having a kitchen was a benefit as it allows saving some money by eating breakfast in the hostel rather than a restaurant. I would certainly consider staying at this hostel again. Gary, from Canada ~ 13th Jul 2011

I'll be honest, I had very low expectations coming into this place and it was better than I imagined. The "curfew" was a big concern of mine, but in reality it's more of quite hours. Its a pretty dingy place and the neighborhood isn't all that exciting, but the Frontenac station is very close and easy to get around. The guy is a neat freak, literally rules on every available surface. Adrian, from USA ~ 14th Jun 2011
