This place is VERY noisy, loud music day and night. They allowed other people staying there to get drunk and party until really late (early morning) and shout, make lots of noise. The drunk guys even started entering our dorm room in mid night and harassing a girl there (that was not their room!). Also looked like anybody can come in the shared dorm room, so security is not great... we even got stuff missing from out backpacks because we left them in the room without putting them in the lockers Ioana, from Romania ~ 9th Mar 2012

Nice location, small rooms with ok beds. Small showers but working. Staff was pretty friendly. make sure to get there with Uruguayan pesos, the exchange rate is not to your advantage from Argentinian pesos. Close to the Buquebus terminal and to the historic center. This place was nice. There are plenty of activities organised by El Viajero so there are always things to do if you´re stuck on ideas. The location is convenient- less than a 10 minute walk to the port and bus terminal. Because Colonia is so small, you are close to everything. Our dorm had its own shower and toiled too. The dorm was quite airless and noisy. The walls are thin, so you can hear everybody from outside talking and laughing, also in the bathrooms. Breakfast was ok, unfortunately no fruits. We would have appreciated more table games and books. The guest kitchen was all over ok, unfortunately the oven worked poorly. The staff appears well organised, friendly and obliging. I was in the mixed room nearest to the lobby area.I tried falling asleep around 1 am but struggled most of the night due to loud music playing in the lobby or people playing guitar and singing, which would have been totally cool if it was a bit quitter and didn't sound like it was coming from the same room.I've stayed in tons of hostels all over the world, but this was by far the most difficult to sleep in.Great location though.
