i liked the location, that it was a quiet place, that you can sit on a bicycle and ride in seconds in the green grounds (p.e. marina). and i liked the cafe franco with the possibility to order something to eat, like the very good salad :-) or the free breakfast in the morning! The tour Henry provided free was superior.He totally refused a tip even tho he earned it several times over.Great guy, well informed, totally prepared w/ info on everything we asked about, kind and patient as well as concerned about our well being and that of the planet, encouraging us to use disposables sparingly, etc.He was the high point but I have only praise for the wonderful staff as well.The place was clean and the food just fine.Easy to meet people in the common room.Very fun valerie, from USA ~ 6th Feb 2012

This Hotel is very good. But has two major drawbacks. 1 The Internet is way too slow! Especially on rainy days if many people are connected. Please upgrade your connection! It's the year 2012! 2 The kitchen closes to early. It's such a nice sitting-area. A better way would be to forbid cooking but keep the sitting-area open. Oh important! I would recommend this place to everyone out there, with no age limit. The greatest down side: it's a bit too far from mostly everything, but still in a very nice place, and quite near from the Golden Gate. This said, you won't regret this pick. Tiago, from Argentina ~ 12th Jan 2012

This hostel has fleas or bed bugs. I and everyone in my room, room 4 to be specific had bites everywhere. They don't even wash the comforters.They don't even clean at all. All the cleaning ladies do is empty out the trash and sort of vacuum. I would never stay there again. Its better to pay the extra dollar or two and stay at a different hostel. I loved the location. But the whole place was filthy! It was such a dirty place, and when I complained I was told that "most hotels donot clean under the bed between every guest". But obviously the place was hardly ever properly cleaned! When I complained for the 3rd time, the staff cleaned grudgingly under the bed. (but the carpet was dirty in other places still!)
