If you want to be around everything, it would be better to stay in Santa Elena or Flores (even better). If you are just vsiting Tikal, it is close to there and that´s good. Remate (where this hostal is) has no bank and few restaurants. If you want ANYTHING, you have to catch a taxi ($20) or collectivo ($2.00) to Santa Elena. Once the evening hits, you are pretty much stuck there. On the bright side, the rooms are kinda charming. There is way too much noise in the mornings (beginning about 4 am
