Best breakfast we had in our whole trip.. Excellent pancakes! Also very nice with the pooltable and all the movies.. A super place to chil-out near the city centrum at a very nice price!!! Malene, from Denmark ~ 2nd Sep 2009

This was our second time staying at Hostal de Sammy. It is a great deal, and quite secure. The rooms lock and you also get a big locker to use. Pancake breakfast is great, including the homemade bread and scrambled eggs. Sausage, the house mascot, is the friendliest dog ever! Location is not bad. It's about a 15-minute walk to the metro station, and about 2.000 CLP for a taxi to the main bus terminal. Jeffrey, from USA ~ 17th Jun 2009

We had a great time at Hostel de Sammy. Warm showers everyday, pancakes for breakfast and a lovely pasta dinner on Tuesday night/ It is also within walking distance of major Santiago attractions. David, from New Zealand ~ 21st May 2009

Very clean hostel with good facilities. Pancackes for breakfast where delicious but the fresh juice was not really juice ... just sirup with some tap water! General a good hostel but don't go there if you don't like dogs very much (noise during night and daytime)!!!
I'm pretty sure that I don't say anywhere that the juice is 'fresh'. This isn't to say that it's horrible, it just happens to come from a jug of concentrated syrup. Every morning the hostel makes it's guests super tasty homemade pancakes (not from a box), homemade bread, homemade jam, and fresh eggs. As much as I would like everything to be homemade, it's just not possible without raising rates. I think that most people will agree that this is reasonable. As far as the dogs go, this is a bit of an exaggeration. Santiago is a big city that has it's share of stray dogs. Where they decide to sleep, I have no control of. Inside, the hostel has one dog, my Sausage, and she is quite well behaved.

A great place to stay, the owner and staff were so incredibly helpful. The wi-fi is nice and there is a pool table, nice patio and TV room. The pancake breakfast in the morning is excellent and the owner even made me fresh orange juice. I highly reccommend the hostel! Kesse, from USA ~ 17th Jan 2009

Sammy's is for sure the best deal in Santiago! Comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms/showers, friendly staff, and all for just $10US per night! They have a comfy movie room and heaps of movies to choose from, free and fast internet use (+WiFi), and Sausage, the dog. The pancake breakfast is a great way to start the day!
