The mattresses are not that well, terrible actually. Only the 2person-mattresses are good. The rest in the hostel is good! The pooltable and Wii are very nice.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the hostel for the most part. We are in the process of upgrading all of the hostel mattresses. Currently, as of October 1st, the 12 person dorm and women's dorm have brand new mattresses, as well as all of the private rooms. The other dorm bed mattresses will be replaced in the next week or so.

pretty good place to stay. was not too exciting, but everyone was friendly enough. the private rooms are really nice, if your traveling as a couple definitaly worth the extra two bucks each. Worth the money for sure kai, from USA ~ 15th Mar 2009

Hostel Bekuo was one of our favourite hostels in costa rica. My boyfriend quite fancied one of the girls on the desk and insisted that we return to see her. The breakfast was really good and its spacious and clean. Keri, from England ~ 4th Mar 2009

A bit of a walk from the downtown action, but taxi´s are available, or bus. Clean, friendly, helpful. It felt more like a ´sleep-over´ with a bunch of friends than a hostel experience. Randall, from USA ~ 27th Feb 2009

Hostel Bekuo was such a nice change from some of the places I've stayed at recently in Central America, including Costa Rica. Definitely, my kind of place. Awesome hosts, cool backpackers, very clean, there's a garden, hammocks, and a big kitchen. It's like stepping into "home" while abroad. There's also a Skype PHONE, which my family appreciated!
