Extremely bad for what you pay. The staff is not friendly, the bathroom is dirty (the WC won't even had the thing to sit) and people walked across our room to get to their's. Try to find another option. Jose, from Mexico ~ 20th May 2012

Terrible. They don't have lockers, they told me to put my bag "right there" on the reception. Blankets are brimming with long hair, one of the corridors pass through a room, and you have to use to different subway lines to get there. Besides, the additional fee for linens is just a rip off. This is a great place to stay if you can reserve a room far enough in advance otherwise they'll gouge you on rent. It's also close to the train station to walk or you can wait a couple minutes while they call a taxi for you. Overall, this was a pretty cool place to stay. Tyler, from USA ~ 9th Apr 2012

After having read reviews of Hostel California, we prepared for the worst, but were happy to find that we had got one of the better rooms. We even had our own toilet and shower, though we hadn't paid for it. It was a bit difficult for the staff to understand that we had brought our own linen, it took some time to work it out. One of the worst places I've been to. The guy at the reception was extremely rude. After having paid for the lodging, I found out the bedsheets have to be paid extra. That's OK, but to my great surprise "paying for bedsheets" included only half a set, i.e. one bedsheet and that's it. For the sheet to cover myself I had to pay once again. It's not a matter of money, it's a matter of fairness: if you cannot provide the service for the price you offer, set a higher price, and it would be OK. Andrey, from Russia ~ 7th Feb 2012
