hostel is not the worst amoung the hostels in the centre of barcelona and is the cheapest! bad things - it stinked from the air conditioning, rooms were extremely poor ( only bed and 1 chair), but the common impression is good. the location is gorgeous - 5 min from Rambla and a couple of minutes from the sea,you will need no taxi to get to any place of interest in the city. the stuff is very friendly and easy going - we were even given a choice among 3 rooms, all the consultations, maps, the cont yulia, from Russia ~ 11th Nov 2011

Very, very good hostel. The staff is very helpful, the location is incredible, and always with a lot of people. The rooms are normal, but everything else is very good. Loved it. Francisco, from Portugal ~ 5th Sep 2011

Hostel New York is close to La Rambla, the main street with all the action in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. There are lots of bars and restaurants around. The front desk is staffed 24/7 and gets to know who you are. The breakfast is meh, and internet is free in the main lobby/kitchen area. The beds creak and are loud, and the bathrooms are dirty. Overall, not bad for the price and location. Sarah, from USA ~ 1st Aug 2011

Bedbugs bedbugs BEDBUGS!!! (Some of) the staff was however very helpful when we got over 200 bites from bedbugs one morning. We changed room and got money in return. Some of the staff was however very rude and unfriendly during our whole stay. Else, from Norway ~ 28th Jul 2011

It was decent and cheap that was the best part. You have to rent the linen (odd) and the pad lock for the lockers. The location was near Las Ramblas. They end the free breakfast at a decent hour 1030, but its worth skipping. The doors, beds and lockers all creak, so trying to be quiet for you roommates is a battle. The doors and walls are thin and its sometimes noise in the streets. Im not a light sleeper so i was fine, but if you are a light sleeper, dont expect to sleep. Also if your traveling jessica, from USA ~ 6th Jul 2011

great location, but be sure to find the little yellow sign when you come back late at night -) good room, only 4 beds. Clean toilets and shower. The staff were helpful. The only little problem was the limited breakfast. I recommend it!!! wartkes, from Lebanon ~ 8th Jun 2011
