Good hostel but really big which makes it harder for it to be more personal and fun. Service at the concierge was great but a female staff member at reception was inexperienced and left the guy doing all the work at check in when there was a massive line.

Close to the subway, huge hostel with lots of facilities. Lots of organised tours for free. Recommended!

I've stayed here twice. Both times rats came into the room at night time and ate food that people had left out. Also, the room smelled very heavily of mold.

overall our stay was made pretty stressful because our beds were sold to another group of people even though we had paid to stay for 2 more nights. as well, the staff were undertrained and unable to program room keys properly, and basically had the attitude that it wasn't their fault that our beds had been sold, and that their customers were an inconvenience. since i am a member, i am am really dissapointed and will not stay here again.

I will not be using the services of HI again. After spending ten days in your filthy NYC location, I can say that you can find better bathrooms and beds in a refugee camp.

I had a good experience. The location was nice in that it was only a block from the subway station. I'll only complain about the slow elevator. the staff were EXTREMELY helpful.
