The Hostel itself is phantastic, including the neighbourhood. Period. But it lies right in the exit lane of San Diego airport, so one has to tolerate the noise of starting planes from 6:30 AM to 11 PM Thorsten, from Germany ~ 21st Jun 2009

I love there!!!!! it is a sort of family style! relax and full of fun. The travelers there and staffs are both kind. I do suggest you try Hostelling International - Point Loma Liqing, from China ~ 1st Dec 2008

Parking is always an issue at the PL hostel, but that's not something they can do anything about. The only thing that was a little bit of a problem was the foam mattresses they have. I remember seeing a little blurb about how these were cool, but the foam seems to break down fast. My bed had a "hole" (a depression) in the mattress which made it so that I could only sleep on one spot on the mattress. Every other spot tilted towards that hole. Everything was awesome, except for the fact that attention finishes at 10 pm which is no especified on line, so i just think people should know about that since you can actually enter a later time of arrival while booking on line. So travellers, make sure you get there before 10 pm or you will not get the room you expected. Other than that, is one of the best hostellings I've ever been to, loved it and love that they have activities to help travellers get to know each other. Daniella, from Peru ~ 24th Nov 2008
