You get what you pay for.The place is very cheap.I felt the location, not dangerous but I live in Japan and I didn't feel as safe there as I do in other areas. However, there are many other hotels in that area, probably many advertised on here. The huge downside is there are only 2 showers for the whole place!I had to wait to shower. There are public baths, but they can only be used at night.Next time I would probably find more of an international youth hostel. This place is good for what you pay for. Futon beds (or pay more for more western style), sheets were clean but they did have a trouble with a lot of hair. Richard, from England ~ 19th Nov 2011

I was happy to see my room in this hotel, although it was small, it was clean! Personnel is very nice and friendly and willing to help! The English was doable, the only downside was that there is only one western style toilet situated on the first floor and only 2 showers also situated on the first floor and the building has 9 floors. Overall I am very satisfied! Elleke, from Netherlands ~ 1st Oct 2011

It's an old building, but the rooms are nice and accomodating. It is just steps away from Dobutsuen-Mae station, which is convenient to Shinsaibashi, Namba, Den-Den town...places young people who rent rooms at a hostel would be interested in going to. Only one complaint, there is only one western-style toilet in the building, on the ground floor. I know it's an older building so the in-floor commodes are de rigueur but come onnnnn. That said, it was always clean when I visited it. Dean, from USA ~ 4th Oct 2011

We had a great time in Taiyo hotel. It is very close to the station and den den town. You can also walk to Namba and Shinsekai if you have time. There is nothing going on in the hostel but you can use Sento for free which is great. Due to being a business hotel it is very quiet. Internet is also free and available all the time. Toilets are japanese style except on the 9th floor (women only floor) and at the reception. Showers are big and clean. We stayed in a japanese style room with tatamis an Neža, from Slovenia ~ 16th Jul 2011

I have to start by saying the staff was AMAZING. They spoke English pretty well and took the time to recommend various attractions. Everyone was very enthusiastic and eager to help. Thank you for making my experience in Japan so pleasant. The hotel was not in the best part of Osaka, but was close enough to everything. The public bath in the hotel is a great way to relax. The rooms are small but they're for sleeping, not hanging out. The hotel is clean and well taken care of. I couldn't ask for a Piotr, from Canada ~ 5th Jul 2011

The room wasn`t clean. There was a hair on the bedding and the room, although it was non-smoking, smelled like smoke and other things. I`m just very thankful that they gave me a refund on the room. We could not stay the night. Rachel, from Canada ~ 2nd Jul 2011
