Hotel Tateshina (Shinjuku) en Alice Springs, Japon

Love it! Good price for this location. Close to Metro/ JR station. Gay area is just across the street. So it's easy if u wanna bring someone home:) Staffs are helpful and speak good english. Room is tiny(15sq.m. single r) but has everything, fridge, tv,etc. Booking from hostels.com is 2000Yen cheaper from regular price. Overall a great hotel for Shinjuku.

The staff speak great English, and are very helpful. A hearty Japanese breakfast is available for Y840. Small rooms, but that's Tokyo, and the price is right. Great location: about 15 minutes from JR Shinjuku (i.e. you're not in the thick of the madness), 4 minutes from Shinjuku Sanchome (also the gay bar district). One thing: I brought a "friend" home one evening, and he was told that if he stayed more than an hour, an "extra person" surcharge would be applied. So beware! Still recommended.
