This place should get 2 ouy of 5 stars. 1 - STAR for cleanliness. It was very clean. 2 - STAR for location on the hill. It's worth the walk to look at the lake view with breakfast. 3 - NO star for staff. These people treat you like you're a child. They are extremely entitled, and I even speak Argentine spanish. 4 - NO star for comfort. There was no ladder to get to the top bunk. 5 - NO star for wanting to go back. The staffis SUPER friendly and helpful, and the feeling of the hostel as a whole is very family-like.The proprietor made a fantastic asado (grill) for the 25de mayo holiday, and since I donot eat meat, he grilled vegetables especially for me!I had booked a private roomwith bathroom, whichturned out to be two rooms, a bathroom, and private kitchenette more like a little cabaño.The proximity to the supermarcado is another big plus. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel.All of the staff were extremely helpful and even remembered my name despite my short stay.They were very informative about activities in the area, and they are more than willing to book pick-up/drop-off at the airport as well as various other transportation or trekking needs, which I found extremely helpful.I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in El Calafate!
