Cold in the winter!There was no heating (unless you wanted to rent a heater) and the doors were left open during the day.Blankets were provided but were old and smelly.The sheets didn't fit the bed so I slept very uncomfortably.Wireless internet did NOT work.Positives: very clean, not crowded, and lots of character.The walls of the rooms are 800 years old.
For sure we have to keep the front door open during the day!! we have free wifi if your device didn't work its not our problem

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone planning on visiting Jerusalem.The location can't be beat, and the price was well within my budget. Shane, from USA ~ 9th Jan 2012

Me and my wife stayed there only for one night. it's a very basic hostel, and the shared bathroom and toilets are clean but small and not comfortable (the sink is simply in the corridor). But the location is great, and if you are looking for an old stone-house in the old city, where you wake up in the morning to the bells sounds of the churches, that is a good choice.

The positives are the location, which is really close to Jaffa Gate, and the top view of Jerusalem from the Hostel, and the friendly reception who is always very willing to help. The negatives are the very old rooms which are unfortunately not cleaned, and the bathroom reeks of rusty stains on the wash basins.
Jerusalem is called the old city so all the buildings here are hundreds of years old and we are so proud to have it like that, if you look for something modern go stay in Tel Aviv

If you are looking for luxurious place to stay, Jaffa Gate is obviously not your choice. But if you are ready to stand some inconveniences (such a small room) - believe me it's worth it! There are some benefits you just can't overrate: Location isn't just great it's the best!You have a unique chance to discover the Old City by your feet. Poor bed-clothing- smelling unclean from blankets Poor quality on the bathroom-leakage from WC and tap Broken mirror.
we did our best to please you, but i think nothing satisfied you, there is no leak in your room (100% sure), when you submit a rating and you give location and staff 100% it would be nice to mention something about it in the review but i think you forgot it all.
