I highly recommend this place. The owner is a gentleman. The rooms were clean and there was hot water. His breakfast was amazing. It is definitely not five star, but it is a nice, clean place to stay in. By the way, the A/C works. Jose, from Puerto Rico ~ 24th Aug 2009

It's a bit pricey traveling to the Arenal National park ($40)roundtrip. It is definitely worth signing up for the tours at the front office for this reason and the staff were very friendly and happy to do so for you with no problems. Very spacious rooms at the hostel. We liked the location because was quiet and the grounds are beautiful. Walking into town can takes a little time, though. Best breakfast we had during our trip! David, from USA ~ 28th Mar 2009
