Pros: You can walk to the french quarter. Rooms are hotel furnished (except for common bathroom). Great transport for checking in and checking out Cons: Only 2 bathrooms 1 for women, 1 for men. Since there is no stalls in the bathroom, only one person can really use it at a time. Hostel is a bit quiet and not much atmosphere. Keyword: candlelight

Excellent receptist when I arrived, then wasn t there anymore...Too many cockroaches. Lack of toilet paper. Kitchen disgusting. Just looks good, first look, but not good at all... Try it and you will see.

This is a very good place to stay on a budget. Its hard to believe some of the more negative reviews about this place. It sure ain't the Ritz, but it's more like living in a dorm, with friendly and helpful staff. The low-key aspect of it is nice, as one neighbor we talked to didn't even know the place was a hostel. The surrounding neighborhood seems unsafe, but being from Philadelphia, the people that I thought would be trouble seemed nice and friendly enough. I would recommend playing it s

while in the heart of Treme - it was a pleasent stay - Sharelle was a big help at the desk and around the place. THe best way to the quarter is to walk down to Esplanade and take it all the way...enjoy ur stay. Remember it is a hostel.

Give Joe and Flo's a chance. It's a good way to stay cheaply in an expensive city, a city that should be experienced by everyone, tremendous heart and soul. Jerome was helpful during a busy weekend at Jazzfest, which was awesome by the way.

I really didn't rate this hostel at all. The location, according to numerous people we met who lived in N.O., said it was a pretty dangerous area. The beds were also INCREDIBLY uncomfortable, with wooden struts jutting into your back when you sleep. Overall very unimpressive!!

This place is nice and the location can't be beat for the price. I think one of the workers said it had been renovated in the past few months. It's about a 10 minute walk (if that) to the French Quarter. The staff is great... the night watch guy came and picked us up from partying for cheap.

Pretty much the most TERRIBLE hostel, but cheap and close to the city center. The sheets on the bed looked like they have never been cleaned. Not to mention there was only a sheet and skinny comforter (no fitted sheet). My girlfriend was so disgusted we ran to the closest walmart to pick up a set of sheets. The bathrooms were gross. They could benefit from a little lime-away. Oh yea, and don't forget to buy toilet paper, because it is NOT supplied for you. The smell of natural gas was overwhel

Overall, a good place; no problems at all. I'd read some negative things about it at other sites, but it was fine - no bug problems, no security problems, staff helpful and friendly.
