Lub d Bangkok en Bangkok, Thailand

I really enjoyed my stay in this super-clean, super-friendly, super-nice hostel. I don't say this because I love the word 'super'; they just earn it! The staff is exceptional. So friendly, nice, and helpful. Next time BKK: Lub d! There is nothing that can't be improved: I'd love to see some sofas in the common area, to relax, read a book, chat with others. Pricey for Bangkok but worth it, I think. Great downstairs/common area. Plenty of internet terminal to use, all modern laptops and fast. Staff was great and helpful. Room was clean and beds are comfortable. Bathroom was very well designed and sparkling clean. Breakfast, while good, will set you back 80 baht. Within walking distance of the skytrain (I'd say 8 mins or so). Good airconditioning And keycard only access to all areas makes for a peaceful mind. Definitely recommended. The hostel itself is nice and very clean. There are always people hanging out in the lobby and it was still quiet in my room. My main complaint is with the location. I didn't really like the area it was in. For fun, maybe stay near Khosan road. For a more modern area, maybe Siam Square. However, taxis are pretty cheap. Also, I don't recommend using the travel agency in the lobby. They said we'd be back from our tour by noon. But we spent so long driving all over the city dropping other travelers

Dear Emily, Thank you so much for your comments, Emily! As for our location, don't know if you know about our new Lub d in Siam Square area. We will open next year, around March-April (finger crossed!). As for the tour, since it's join-in tour and it includes pick-up and drop-off, this is the way they operate. Ways to avoid this is to either book a private tour but it could be very expensive or find out their route and meet them at the last pick-up point and get off when it's in the vicinity. A nice, clean, and friendly atmosphere! I stayed in a female dorm - the room was spacious and the bathroom was very modern. However, watch out for that glass door at night on the top floor! I walked into it twice. :( It's close to the skytrain!

not really a happening hostelno pub crawl or tours but was safe, staff were friendly had trouble with english. the dryer took 5 hours to dry clothes. good theatre room, comfy beds. great showers.

We are literally shocked to know that it took five hours to dry clothes! Something's seriously wrong with the dryer! Next week we will have a major clean of washers & dryers by the contractor.
