The private double room is right next to the kitchen where you can hear all the discussions and ukulele playing and reggae versions of easy etc. The door could not be locked from the inside. Also the window gives straight to the smoking area. There was hardly any light in the room. Worst was the bed. It had plastic spikes in it. You had to make the bed on top of the bed spread. Mandala allows for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Budapest.The staff is incredible, in that they are willing to discuss anything at anytime and genuinely do their best to keep things clean and safe.The hostel itself has a homelike feel that enables one to walk around freely and comfortably, without shoes. It may strike a person as a strange at first, but the staff quickly allows one to feel right at home.If you are going to Budapest at any point and for however long, stay at Mandala Trevor, from USA ~ 28th Apr 2012

Great staff, and great, relaxing atmosphere and decor. Bed facilities are nice. Bathrooms could be a bit nicer, but are just fine. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs, as the doors are creaky. I would definitely return! Carol, from USA ~ 7th Apr 2012

We booked a private room with a bath for a couple and a separate bed for myself in the dorm.The dorm part was noisy as both the floor and the doors were incredibly creaky and old.Bring your own pillow.The private room as really nice and spacious and definitely worth the extra money. Wonderful little hostel approx. 15 beds built into two rooms of a big downtown apartment with high ceilings and lofts installed. Feels like staying in the living room of a close friend. Staff are very welcoming and layout well-suited to meeting fellow travelers. Will definitely stay here next time in Budapest! Matthew, from USA ~ 21st Jul 2011
