I was headed to a concert and was almost late because I had to wait over an hour to get a room EVEN with reservations and then, I gave them plenty of time and came back and waited another 30 minutes or so for someone to show up at reception and let me have my room.The toilets broke in the common area, but it seemed laid-back otherwise.Not a fan of the saran wrapped mattresses it was uncomfy, bring your own sheets/blankets because it gets cold! Great location - you can see the sea when standing in the balcony. Staff was helpful. Some valuable things of mine were stolen but to be fair, it was not their fault. I should have put them in a safe... I will stay here next time I come back. Yi, from USA ~ 10th Dec 2011

Best with this place is location (heart of Fifth Avenue) and the guys sitting on the front desk. One problem with Playa del Carmen is that when ever you ask for information, people try to sell you trips. Tell instead your plans for the day to the guys at the front desk and they will give you ideas and tips. They do not get commission from the tourist operators.
