A bit lacking in atmosphere and more like college dorm accommodation than a hostel. Rooms were small and a bit lacking in air so tended to get hot and uncomfortable. Nice lounges and helpful, friendly staff. Location is 20 minutes walk from Vic Market and right near a tram line but still a bit of a trek to the nearest shops. Not bad as a quieter alternative to the party hostels of St Kilda and the like.

Great staff. Friendly atmosphere. The bathrooms weren't thoroughly cleaned. All the sinks I used had very slow drains, and some had empty soap dispensers. The bathrooms needed more maintenance. The location is great, close to downtown and the University of Melbourne. The bedroom doors are very loud when closing; our neighbors kept us awake when they closed their doors. Also, we could hear an entire telephone conversation, which indicated that the sound insulation was inadequate. We don't
