May 2012. We had a room with one bed and it was really narrow for two. The room looked out into a tiny inner yard, no fresh air at all (( and the air conditioning made the same sound as a plane makes while flying. There are no beaches near the hostel. The nearest we could find was 25-30 min walk. But you'll find plenty of bars near. Quite loud in the evenings. Everything is clean, the staff in general is very nice and helpful. The private room was great with a TV and a fridge. The only problem was there weren't enough hangers in the closest, no table/dresser to put clothes in, and the beds were very hard! The Posada San Francisco is by far one of my most favorite hostels in the United States. The location is excellent, and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are very large and has free wifi. The hostel also has a beautiful balcony view of Old San Juan on the fourth and fifth floor. Overall, this is simply the best hostel in San Juan and is one of the best in the United States.
