Sleephere en Bruselas, Belgica

This has to be one of my favorite hostels of all time - and I have been hostelling for 25 years. An absolutely beautiful house - a charming host! I brought my 15 year old daughter to Belgium - this stay at the hostel added a dimension to our trip and for her that we did not get anywhere else - conversation around the dinner table we a delightful array of south American and Eastern Europeans. The house is absolutely beautiful, the showers are hot, and the (non-bunk) beds are comfortable.Karel is also very friendly and helpful.There is a dishwasher in the hostel, so you know that your dishes are disinfected.(I've seen people "wash" dishes in a hostel before by just rinsing them, and so I'm always wonder about how clean hostel dishes are.)My only complaint is that there are no lockers.

Dear Emily, Thank you so much for your feed-back. It's always very useful for me to learn about what people think about my place. Like in your review, I am always amazed about what details people look at. Indeed, for centuries people had a lot of diseases because of hand-washed dishes. Lucky I have a dish-washer! Maybe I should put a big sign above the sink: "No dish-washing by hand unless hands and dishes are perfectly disinfected". Allow me to state that absolute judgments are most of the time dangerous. For instance, I offer to people a home, not a "hostel". This means people will behave as they are at home! If I change this, my place would not be a "home" anymore. Likewise, having a battery of lockers at my place would not fit into this spirit. But of course, I can put away safely valuables if people ask for it. You just have to ask for it..... Si quieres dormir bien, en un lugar muy limpio y conocer gente. es un muy buen hostel. además es el mas lujoso al que puedas ir por ese precio, que no es poco, pero tampoco es tan caro. no es un hostel divertido con fiestas, pero es muy bueno y puedes tener acceso al centro de la ciudad en 15 minutos de metro y la estacion Louise esta a 5 cuadras. es una zona muy linda y segura para andar de noche. 100% recomendable Héctor, from Argentina ~ 19th Nov 2011
